Harvey Norman People Operations has an exciting opportunity for a detail orientated Health & Safety professional to join our team as a Senior Co-ordinator! This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a combination of set tasks and more hands-on project work.  

Located at our Head Office in Manukau, this role is full time, working Monday to Friday. 

Working with us means you’ll be welcomed into a hardworking and fun team and take responsibility for: 

  • Providing first point of contact for health and safety related queries
  • Monthly reporting
  • Conducting site inspections in our workplaces across New Zealand
  • Providing advice to managers and employees about safe practices
  • Managing our health and safety practices, including incident and injury management, safety committees and contractor management
  • Preparing and distributing health and safety communications and alerts
  • Coordinate our “Report the Good” Health and Safety recognition programme 

You will be the type of person who loves administration and taking responsibility for making sure your allocated activities happen like clockwork. You will continually look for ways to improve and be more effective, to help ensure that our day-to-day health and safety practices are seamless and effective. 

The main attributes we are looking for are: 

  • A Health and Safety Coordinator with a minimum of 2-3 years health & safety experience
  • Qualification in health & safety, completed or in progress 
  • Comfortable with technology, ideally, you’ll be Word, PowerPoint and Excel proficient
  • Advanced accuracy and detail focus and enjoy working with numbers and data
  • High quality standards
  • Extremely organised and have a super-efficient working style
  • Reliable, self-starter, focused and able to work on your own
  • Keen to continually improve safety and yourself!
