Lead and strengthen inventory planning across Harvey Norman NZ in this Lead Inventory Planner role. This is a full-time, Monday – Friday position, located in our Manukau Support Office!

About the Role

The focus of this role is to ensure financial targets are met through effective forecasting, strategic collaboration and performance analysis. This role plays a key part in shaping inventory strategies, supporting category managers and driving commercial outcomes through data-driven planning and cross-functional teamwork.

We are looking for a confident and reliable team player with strong analytical skills!

Some key tasks will include:

• Build and maintain a strong planning function to support business performance.
• Lead financial planning and open-to-buy forecasting across departments.
• Collaborate with category managers to shape and deliver merchandise strategies.
• Support product ranging processes to ensure alignment and efficiency.
• Drive key financial outcomes including sales, stock turn, and sell-through.
• Foster strong relationships and clear communication with stakeholders.
• Coach and guide buyers, planners, and allocators to think strategically.
• Visit stores regularly to assess merchandise performance and gather insights.
• Monitor business performance using relevant KPIs and provide recommendations.

About You

We are seeking a well-organised, customer-focused professional with a strong understanding of industry trends and the ability to systematically evaluate business opportunities. A proactive problem-solver, you’ll be confident in managing priorities and driving results in a dynamic environment.

Some attributes we are looking for include:

• Retail industry experience
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and numeracy skills, with a high level of attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with SAP BI tools such as Business Objects, Dashboards, BW, and HANA
• Experience in managing a team and implementing new planning functions from inception, desirable
• Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Economics or Commerce, or certifications like APICS CPIM or ARA, desirable
