Harvey Norman is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Accountant on a full-time fixed term basis for 6 months. Harvey Norman is an ASX listed company and this role will support the Financial Reporting Manager in the preparation of all internal and external financial reporting for the group.

In this role you will support the Financial Reporting Manager with: 

• Month end reporting,
• Year end and half year end reporting,
• Lease accounting for group properties,
• Accounting for owner occupied and investment properties,
• Maintaining the group consolidation,
• Preparation and filing of local statutory accounts,
• Reviewing, accounting treatment and implications of new financial reporting standards, and changes in tax legislation
• Liaising with auditors
• Preparation and filing of companies’ office and department of statistics returns,
• Ensuring compliance with internal systems and policies 
• Preparation, analysis and presentation of financial reports, financial forecasts, budgets, and variance reports on monthly/quarterly/annual basis as required.

We are looking for someone with: 

• 3-5 years’ experience in a large accounting practice, preferably “Big 4”. 
• A bachelor’s degree in commerce / accounting.
• A CA qualification
• An understanding of statutory reporting in NZ  
• Experience in a large property or retail group would be advantageous.
