We have one full-time role available for 40 hours per week in our Harvey Norman Support Office located at 8/72 Cavendish Drive, Manukau City, Auckland. This role will work Monday – Friday.
About the Role
This role will manage the Bed Linen category, monitoring new product price submissions, promotional pricing & increases to point-of-sale material, along with, managing inventory levels, performing regular stock analysis, aged stock reporting and forecasting for promotional events. You will manage seasonal stock allocations for the Bed Linen category and assist with other categories where required.
In this role, you will also assist the Bedding Product Managers to negotiate, communicate and load special pricing deals and product offers. Additionally, you will liaise with suppliers to collect information regarding product details, and quality assurance for products, images, samples and promotional material.
Some key tasks will include:
- Manage effective communications to stores
- Assess category management in-stores
- Conduct regular competitor reviews with regards to advertising, finance, promotions and marketing activities
- Manage product submission forms and co-ordinate the process for listing online
- Assist with conferences, offsite meetings and training sessions
- Regularly report on category performance
- Ensure all advertising instruction and pricing is planned and completed within set timeframes
- Maintain job role process documents on a rolling basis as each job evolves.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and other essential company policies
- Undertake project work and other duties as required
- Assist the Bedding team with administrative duties
- Manage the Critical Path for each category to ensure timely product launches
About you
We are looking for someone with an understanding and interest in design, interiors, bedroom, bed linen and décor. You will be self-motivated with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Our ideal candidate will have exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to adapt and prioritise in a fast paced, busy environment.
Ideally, you will have experience within a large retail organisation, in dealing with a variety of audiences with different perspectives and levels of expertise. We are looking for someone in category management or merchandise planning in a similar field. You will be able to analyse and guide sound pricing, inventory and advertising decisions based on data.
Some attributes we are looking for include:
- Strong attention to detail
- Fast & accurate data entry skills
- Experience in logistics, essential
- Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
- A tertiary qualification in fashion or textiles, desirable
- Experience within a buying or product team, in a large retail organisation, desirable
- Experience in a bedding, furnishing or home interiors environment, desirable
- Persistent with a high level of work ethic & professionalism
- Ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies
- A commercial mindset and a level of maturity needed to understand business needs and drivers, desirable
- Knowledge of NZ legislation in relation to retail, desirable
